Federeral Tax

TENNIS TUITION

Did you see those tears on Roger Federer's eyes standing at the peak of tennis world? It was much more like laying down on the grass and crying like a child having just won his 5th consecutive Wimbledon title. The whole world assumed a Federer victory. No one in Las Vegas would have placed their bet on Rafael Nadal, who as everyone knows, is a great player, but not the greatest on grass. Rafa has changed that opinion with this final where he made Federer work hardest for this one, so hard that for the first time I have ever heard Federer say, "I got lucky to win this one". Rafa can also take heart from the fact that he has made Roger work far harder than the latter challenged him on his turf, the French Open, in the past 2 year's finals. God willing these two players stay fit and we will see Rafa lifting the title next year or the year after next.

The world of pressure was on Federer and Rafa had nothing to lose, but going by his reaction after having lost his 2nd consecutive finals at Center Court in Wimbledon, he was as hungry if not more, than Federer for this one and but for the last few minutes in the last set, Rafa looked better all the way, having won 2 convincing sets compared to the two tie-breaks that Federer had to win his sets with. Having worked through all the grueling 5-setters interrupted continually by rain delays, Rafa kept up his intensity all the way to the end and it must have been really tough. Tougher it must have been though, for Roger Federer, who had the weight of the tennis world on his head as he chased the record 5th continuous title, ads all over TV screens during changeovers advertising his champion spirit when he was really struggling to keep his tempo in this pit fight between great champions.

In Roger's tears, we can see his humility, his passion and what a Wimbledon title means for him. We also see how much Rafa has made him earn this title. This expression was so genuine, so humble. Something you'd hardly expect from a 11 time Grand Slam winner, winning his 5th consecutive Wimbledon. What a champion and What a rivalry! Thanks Rafa and Roger!

  1. yes, yes, yes. Finally we have someone who can match Federer ( I say match because I really think Rafa had the ability to win Wimbledon, perhaps if he hadn’t played 7 days straight). It has brought the excitement back to tennis, I can’t wait to see what happens next.
